It’s not what I say. It’s what you take home.

 

I work hard to ensure that my speeches are authentic, engaging, lighthearted, and even humorous (where appropriate, of course). But all the funny anecdotes in the world mean nothing if my messages aren’t applicable or even replicable once the show is over. That’s why I’m particular about the lessons I choose to teach: each must offer true value to your audience. Each must be worthy of your time. Below is a sample of programs that I offer. It’s common knowledge that soil quality plays a critical role for growing strong, beautiful plants - without it, other contributors to a plant’s health can only do so much. Mindset is the human equivalent of soil quality. With a poor mindset there is only so much that diet, exercise, and sleep can do to help you thrive. In this engaging, humorous, and poignant session, I draw on my own health and wellness journey to illustrate the role mindset plays in caring for ourselves, ground the lessons learned in the scientific underpinnings of resiliency practices and share ways to cultivate a mindset that will keep you growing in health and vitality.

  • Imagine That: Change how you think, feel, and act for the better

Coaches, facilitators, consultants, educators, and agents of change well know the power of a compelling vision to focus a person’s energy, harness motivation, and inspire action. Less well known (or more actively used) is the regular use of imagery, which can support your client (and yourself!) in charting a path forward and resolving the obstacles that crop up along the way. Leverage lessons gained from my own image-fueled journey and creative coaching sessions to get the most from what you can imagine.

In this session you will learn:

  • How the creative process promotes inner knowledge and clear action

  • Ways in which imagery can clarify focus, identify obstacles, and generate options for action

  • What makes emotion a critical player in success and (defeat) - and how to make emotion less intimidating

  • Why image work functions as a connector between body, mind, and spirit

  • Ways to incorporate image work into your personal practices and client work.


  • The Fastest Way to Charge Up? Power Down

Do you treat yourself the way you treat your computer, tablet, or cell phone: always charged up, at the ready, with lit screen? When you do “unplug” from your devices, do you really? Relaxation doesn’t just happen. Sure, with ample time and space, healthy bodies and minds will settle into a relaxed state. But who has the time for that to happen naturally? Join me for an introduction to you relaxation response (the biological system that balances your stress response). Learn how to actively engage it so that you can create islands of calm in your busy day, every day. Along the way, you’ll hear anecdotes and learnings from her own transformation from “stressed mess” to “Zen Jen.”

  • How our human stress and relaxation systems work

  • What makes active relaxation an essential component of health and well-being

  • Ways to activate your relaxation response (which is a whole lot more enjoyable than managing your stress response!)
